Things to do..

First off, thanks for checking out the new blog..

I am very anxious to get back in the classroom with my little group of students.  The children are sure to have lots of stories to share about their little "vacation".

I am sure that the students would love to have some school work to do so I thought I could post a few ideas.
  • Encourage your child to speak French while playing with his/her toys.
  • Students should know colours and many simple words in French.  Ask them to translate simple words in French and praise them when they know the French words.
  • Practice letter recognition (this can be done in English because if they know them in English, it translates and it is easier for them to learn them in French)
  • Play with numbers 1-10.  For numbers, students can count objects (1-10) and show you how many objects it takes to represent a number.
  • For fine motor skills, art activities - coloring, cutting, gluing.
  • Read to them.. let them tell you a story by looking at the pictures.. I can't say it enough - read, read, read!
Enjoy your time together -
Madame Wendy
